Preston Hollow Whole-Home Transformation — A Three-Year Collaboration

When a client acquired a significant home in Preston Hollow, she called Paul and asked Waterside to renovate it to achieve her vision. Over a three-year program, Waterside—partnering with Sherry Hayslip Designs—guided a complete transformation that honors the home’s classic framework while introducing a refined, transitional-to-contemporary feel.

Every surface and system was meticulously upgraded: a layered lighting plan featuring high-efficiency LEDs and statement fixtures from Murano, Italy; new flooring; cabinetry sourced from France and the United Kingdom; semi-precious stone slabs; plaster-finished walls; high-gloss “wet look” paints; stone countertops; premium plumbing and hardware; and a coordinated color palette that unifies the experience room-to-room.

Key architectural moments include the new, air-conditioned outdoor loggia for year-round entertaining and a marble, curved entry staircase as a sculptural focal point. The former outdoor patio space off the kitchen was enclosed as a new indoor l’orangerie with custom arch top MHB doors trimmed in thin Roman brick and a custom plaster inlay ceiling detail designed by SHD.
